Behind the scenes

What actually happens.
In plain words.

Our service only introduces your devices. After that, they talk to each other directly.

  1. 01

    We introduce your devices

Each device tells our service its public key and how it can be reached. The service passes that on to the other devices in your network, and nothing else.

  2. 02

They connect straight to each other

Devices open an encrypted WireGuard connection directly to each other, through home routers and most firewalls.

  3. 03

    A relay, only when needed

If a network blocks a direct path, an encrypted relay passes the data along. It can't read it, and it keeps trying to go direct.

  • No. Our service only introduces your devices to each other. Your data goes directly between them, or through an encrypted relay that can't read it.
